Kiyoharu and Hyde

Good evening. My first post ever to this community but I have been a lurker for a long time and enjoyed your great posts :) (sorry for all grammar faults, I'm not a native speaker)
I'll try to give proper credit everywhere I can - If someone feels offended by whatever reason, I'll delete the links of course!

Some may know that Kiyoharu (former SADS and Kuroyume, now solo) was close friends with L'Arc~en~Ciel and especially with Hyde in 1992/1993. They performed together (the Youtube Video) and there was even a rumour about Hyde and Kiyoharu living together. Stressing the word rumour..
Kiyoharu seemed to have a soft spot for Hyde (not in the lovey-dovey way) and there was this nice little photoshoot~

.. and there was this little column entitled HYDE x Kiyoharu's dangerous talk published in the SHOXX magazine 1993 (they were talking about another band), taken from THE ARK, translation by bluebird -

Kiyoharu: The vocalist is good friend of mine. Please go to see them.
HYDE: ...I feel a little bit jealous. (laugh)
Kiyoharu: Oh, no. There's no feeling to him like I feel for you. (laugh) But he is my old friend and he is really nice, you know.
HYDE: Don't answer me like that. You make me blush. (laugh)
Kiyoharu: I'm sorry. (laugh) I read the last issue the other day, and I thought, oh, these our conversations are dangerous! (laugh)
HYDE: (laugh)
Kiyoharu: Anyway.. time to stop now.
HYDE: Please look forward to read the next issue.^^

In a different interview (same year) Kiyoharu stated that he respected L'Arc and described his desire to get their "vibe".

--What other bands do you respect?

Kiyoharu: L'arc-en-ciel. In music L'arc, and with shows Gargoyle. When those types of bands come up on the news, you see how intricate their shows are, their stage performance and music are able to expand.. in a different sense, people who understand that can also understand the art of it, I think.

--Do you want to make Kuroyume's stage presence like that also?

Kiyoharu: Yeah, it may be just because I'm the vocalist, but... I want it to take on that feeling.

And then - Nothing. No open contact anymore. No photos, no lives, no references. It's a huge mystery to me and that's why I really need any information you can gather ^_^
Wild guessing starts now~ When Kiyoharu still seemed on good terms with Laruku/Hyde Sakura wasn't a part of the band yet. And I can't lose the feeling of Kiyoharu playing kinda the same role for Hyde like Sakura later did. Please don't get me wrong, I don't have any slashy opinions there, but Sakura and Hyde had always this pretty close relationship aka friendship and this lovely banters (like I would have with one of my female friends) going on between them. Maybe there was some hurt, some jealousy.. I dunno, sadly :(

I just read in this comm that Kiyoharu bashed L'Arc openly and that they aren't on good terms anymore (and that would be understandable) On the other hand Ken was the support guitarist for Kiyoharu's first solo album in 2004. Weird.

Post got really long and I hope I haven't bored anyone to death. Just had to get that off my chest. Would be great if this whole "thing" won't stay a total secret otherwise I'll have to read or write some steamy slash fanfiction *cough*.

oooh, thank you for this post, it's very interesting. i've heard of kiyoharu but i don't know much about him... even without speculation, this is interesting stuff. and actually, making the connection between the dissolution of their friendship and the growth of his friendship with sakura isn't much of a stretch... that top picture you posted is almost a copy of one of hyde and sakura! (with his head in sakura's lap and them looking into each other's eyes...) it's not unreasonable to think that that might engender some jealousy... but i find it really sad that he's bashing l'arc now, no matter what, if they were once so close. after all, hyde and sakura are still close. ah, well.

i guess it proves that hyde's cuteness is very dangerous??? ^_^;;;;;

Hmm, I read somewhere that Hyde kicked Kiyoharu out when Sakura came to live with him. O.o? Maybe that was a rumor too. Aw, I hope they make up soon. They were very cute together and it's so sad that they're not on good terms anymore. Thanks again for the pics! X3

Didn't Sakura live with Tetsu at the beginning? At least that's what he was saying in the 2006 NEWSMAKER issue ;)

I think they found Sakura an apartment in Osaka for the time being (they all moved to Tokyo in the end anyway)

Ahhhh thanks so much for this post, I always wanted to ask if anyone knew what happened to the relationship between Laruku and Kiyoharu/Kuroyume :(

On the other hand, Ken was also the first one who befriended Sakura again (at least officialy)*lol*.

ahaha oh din_84 you linked that awesome sakura article. i'm totally going to go off topic here but i remember the first time i read it i started having a nosebleed at the one part;

aa~ the great mystery. i too would love to know what happened there and it's too bad they haven't been able to 'make up'. both hyde and kiyoharu's singing is better now [they tortured "Hush" but god i love watching that video XD] and it would be interesting to have another collaboration of some sort. i had heard that tidbit with Ken but never stopped to really think about it. You'd think there'd be a bit more info somewhere but this sounds like something that's been hidden really well.

OMG HAHAHAHA, that's also my favorite part, I've been known to use the phrase "old-fahsioned male bonding" regularly after reading this article (and I read it several times).
I also love the part where Hyde eats Sakura's dinner, LOL priceless >_> or this part:

Loved that article as well - It's simply priceless and I was really happy that our fearless has (still) a good relationship with Sakura. Before I had read that interview I always thought they.. uh.. didn't get along well or didn't even talked to each other at all.
